Deep watering is very important for the health and longevity of your trees. Roots
will follow the water source, and if you are only watering at the surface, your roots will rise to find the water. Roots will be exposed and shallow roots have a harder time stabilizing trees in a wind storm. So show your roots the path to grow down by deep watering. One method is to use tree watering stakes so water is directed to the root zone efficiently and immediately. These stakes also allow oxygen and fertilizer down to the roots, which is vital for a healthy root system.
