Corian Countertop
Question
I wipe down my Corian vanity top every day, but one day I saw tiny black
specks on the backsplash. Is it mold? Bleach did nothing. I tried many
cleaners, and Rust-Out, without success. The Corian is white on white
with a slight marble effect.
Answer
Try sanding with fine sandpaper. That is the standard procedure for
cleaning it. If that does no good, check with the dealer. The piece
might be defective. Corian is not supposed to do that; at least mine
has not done it for 15 years, although mine is off-white, not marbleized.
If it is just the backsplash that has the spots, and it is separate
from the vanity top, it can be replaced.
