Removing Carpet Question: I have a long hall with wall-to-wall carpet. I would like to remove it to expose the hardwood underneath. My husband says that many holes from tacks, especially those from a tacking strip (using bigger nails), will show too much. Is that so, and if it is, is there anything I can do about it? Answer: There will be many tack holes, but they are very small and can be filled with a wood filler to match the floor. They will be invisible, especially if you are looking at them from 5 feet away. The tack-strip holes are bigger and will show even if they are filled. But you will soon forget about them. And you can put down an oriental runner, all wool, and it will outlast that wall-to-wall stuff by 20 years. Return to the "Crusader Q&A Topics" page!If
