Painting Baseboards Question: I’m painting my wood-work and having a good time, but when painting the baseboards I am having a devil of a time keeping it off the wall-to-wall carpet that goes up against the baseboard. How can I keep the paint off the rug? Could I push the rug down and tape it to keep the paint away? Answer: Yes. You could also buy long metal strips called paint guards that are inserted between rug and board, and press down. The trouble with that is, when you remove the guard, some of the rug might bounce back and hit the wet paint. Taping the rug, however, will prevent that. Return to the "Crusader Q&A Topics" page!If
