HANDLING MOLD
QUESTION: You have written of a solution of one part bleach and three parts water for handling mold. I am moving into a rental unit and I have been warned that there are pantry pest. Would that solution be good to clean the shelves?
ANSWER: Yes, it is a disinfectant, but you can make the bleach water ratio 1 to 5 or higher. Be sure to wash everything in sight and wear skin and eye protection. It would be a good idea to wash the pantry again in two weeks because the best tend to make two broods. If they persist, you can buy a pantry pest trap.
