GROUND IN GUM QUESTION: I need to get ground-in gum out of a rug. I have tried Goo-Gone and various chemicals and nothing works. What can I do? ANSWER: First, scrape off as much as is practical. Then try one of these tricks: Wet it with rubber cement solvent, making sure the solvent doesn’t leach or affect the rug in any way. Or, use any kind of oil; mineral oil or salad oils are good ways to go. Another way is to place lots of ice cubes on the gum until it gets brittle; then you can scrape it off with a dull knife. If
